| Note: A valid international driver's license of a eligible country & state is only valid for 30 days upon arriving in Taiwan . To extend that time period, one must get a driving permit (free) at a Motor Vehicles Office. 》》You must prepare the required documents:
1. A valid International Driver's License (Accompanied with the actual driver's license) and a photocopy of it.
2. Passport and a photocopy of it.
3. A.R.C. (ALIEN RESIDENT CERTIFICATE) and a photocopy of it.
4. Application form for a driving permit (available from a motor vehicles office).
5. One photo (1 or 2 inches in size), black and white or color, front view of face without hat and taken within the past six months.

1. Permit of driving is base on the principles of equality and reciprocity.
2. The maximum period of validity for a driving permit is one year. If the period of your original international driver's license or ARC is less than one year, the expiration date of the driving permit will be the same date of whichever expires first.
